A message from our Board President-Jamie Barton

 Dear SoCal Adaptive Sports family, friends, and colleagues,

I wanted to take a moment to announce the hiring of Mr. Chris Allen as our new incoming Executive Director. 

Chris brings his deep commitment to community impact, extensive leadership experience in nonprofit management, and a lifelong passion for adaptive sports to this position. Chris’ background in strategic development, fundraising, and sports coaching will help take us to the next level, building on co-Founder Mike Rosenkrantz’ vision and the incredible work that has made SoCal Adaptive Sports into such a meaningful organization.   

We are excited to have Chris onboard to continue our impactful momentum toward celebrating our 5^th year of existence in May and beyond!

Please join me in welcoming Chris Allen as our new Executive Director. I'm very happy that he is joining us and wish him the very best in bringing more opportunities for people with disabilities and their families throughout Southern California.  

I've very much appreciated this path and how we've been able to move SoCal Adaptive Sports forward over the past five years. This has been a wonderful journey, and I know that we've made a difference in the lives of many!

My treatments have gone well as I now start to recover from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and will stay involved with SoCal Adaptive Sports and other organizations that are creating greater societal inclusion.  

Thanks to the staff, board and all of you for bringing light into the world and ensuring that we all have a place in society! Stay strong.

Quería tomarme un momento para anunciar la contratación del Sr. Chris Allen como nuestro nuevo Director Ejecutivo entrante.

Chris aporta su profundo compromiso con el impacto en la comunidad, una amplia experiencia en liderazgo en la gestión de organizaciones sin fines de lucro y una pasión de toda la vida por los deportes adaptativos. We are growing our Inland Regional Center programs, including self-determination, and continue to offer 1:1 and small group coaching and workouts.  If you'd like to take part and/or participate in any of our programs, please have SoCal Adaptive Sports assigned by your Regional Center Community Services Coordinator (CSC). Our Vendor number is PJ5601. We are open to many different modalities for bringing adaptive sports and physical, social, and emotional health to everyBODY!

We are hiring part-time coaches!

As an adaptive sports coach, you'll leverage your passion for sports and strong communication skills to create an inclusive environment for athletes with varying abilities. You'll develop tailored training programs, facilitate engaging activities, and foster teamwork and confidence among participants, ensuring everyone feels valued and empowered. Your role will involve actively promoting inclusivity, adapting strategies to meet individual needs, and encouraging personal growth. Your love for sports and ability to connect with others will be essential in making a positive impact in the lives of the athletes you will coach.  Please send a cover letter and resume to joe@socaladaptivesports.org.

The recent fires in Los Angeles have displaced many, including individuals with disabilities. Our organization is actively working to connect those affected with vital resources and support.
