Webinar: A Humanist Response to Gender-Based Violence

Our guest speaker, Catherine Dunphy—accomplished writer, poet, and advocate for women’s rights—will explore how Social Emotional Learning and mindfulness can nurture empathy and play a vital role in preventing gender-based violence.

Drawing from her personal journey and extensive advocacy, Catherine will discuss ways Humanists can take a proactive role in ending gender-based violence. Catherine is a founding member and former Executive Director of the Clergy Project, author of From Apostle to Apostate, and a passionate activist advancing programs aimed at violence prevention against women.

Master Student in International and European Law Hamed Chemli explores the long history of humanist engagement with climate issues, highlights where our movement has fallen short, and outlines concrete ways we can step up to influence policy and law for the sake of our planet and future generations.

This insightful article connects humanist values of responsibility, reason, and justice with pressing global challenges, making a compelling case for stronger legal and institutional action from the humanist community.

Webinar: Black Humanism

This event is organized by the American Humanist Association, Taylor Leigh of The Antibot, and Drew McCoy of Genetically Modified Skeptic.


Dr. Anthony Pinn of Rice University, and author of The Black Practice of Disbelief, works at the intersection of African-American religion and Humanist thought. In this event, Dr. Pinn will share with us the history of Black humanism, how Black humanists are making meaning in their secular communities, and how we can both learn from and support their communities.

Invitation to Participate in a Research Study on End-of-Life Experiences


The Nonreligion in a Complex Future project, affiliated with the University of Ottawa, is conducting important research on people’s experiences with end of life care. The project explores how people experience and imagine a good death, and seeks the perspectives of those who have experienced a close loss in the last year.

This brief online survey aims to gather insights into end-of-life care experiences. Your participation will contribute to a greater understanding of these issues and help improve future care practices.
