Dear Olivia,

As an organization nearing a decade of work dedicated to bringing people together to courageously face the state of the world, I am proud to say we’ve never wavered. Good Grief Network creates brave spaces to hold the overwhelm, grief, and despair of these disruptive times alongside deep cultivation of joy, meaning, gratitude, and awe.

Author, activist, and Zen priest, Rev. angel Kyodo williams said, “Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.” As we attend to and transform our inner worlds in community, we are emboldened to help transform the outer world. Our inner work becomes a sustainable source of fuel and drive to reimagine and rebuild the world around us.

I have the honor of witnessing the transformational capacities of the spaces we hold at GGN. We regularly receive messages speaking of lives changed, skills gained, and connections reinvigorated. A participant in our Collective Grieving Space noted, “I needed this session more than I realized. I'd never done any sort of group sharing before, and I see now how helpful it can be.For many, Good Grief Network is the lamplight on a starless night.

We hope you feel connected to us, to our hearts, as you page through our first ever Report to the Community. In a time of ongoing socio-political upheaval and increasing climate impacts, donations allow our team to continue this much-needed work. We ask that you contribute to this organization that is transforming the world from the inside out.

Thank you for being a part of the heart-centered revolution.

In community,

LaUra Schmidt

For Earth Month we are weaving our grief with our gratitude for our vast planet. We invite you to breath in some fresh air, quiet yourself, and listen to the Earth around you. Intentional presence is a gift in a world that demands our attention. Every month is Earth month and acknowledging the grief of a collapsing world while in awe of the complexity She holds is our way of celebrating what billions of creatures call home.

If you have been moved by a Collective Grieving Space, 10-Step group, FLOW Facilitation Training, or from just reading our mission, we ask that you please contribute to our organization. Any amount aides in our efforts to support people all over the world grieving a collapsing planet. Thank you for believing in our work, you are what make us resilient.
