WEDNESDAY WORDS
FROM METRO MINISTRIES, INC.
July 6, 2022
Metro's Church Collaboration Grant Cycle Is Open!
Where do churches fit in with addressing mental health crises in our communities? Have you thought about your church's role in decreasing suicide numbers for children and youth, in the active military, for veterans, or in the homes of often isolated seasoned adults? What can your church do to help prevent school shootings, to stop bullying, to help children and adults recover from unspeakable trauma? How can your church be a safe place for individuals recovering from addictions of all kinds?
Metro Ministries invites all Central District United Methodist churches to consider how grant funding may be able to help your church take action toward some of these or other mental health concerns.
We invite you to check out our website for full details on this grant cycle, thoroughly read the Request for Proposal, review the timeline and consider the possibilities at your church. Then, we invite you to Apply by the August 14, 2022 deadline.
If your church already has active programs and projects in place, we invite you to share with Metro your good work, so that we can share it with others who are looking for ideas. This grant cycle is intended for new or re-imagined programs and projects.
Please contact Tina McAninch with any questions you have about Metro's Focus on Mental Health grant cycle.

The first is an app for smart phones that automatically provides food resources based on where the individual is. The second is the ability to text for food resources if an individual does not have a smart phone. Check out details of Community Compass.
