“Empathy is not simply a matter of trying to imagine what others are going through, but having the will to muster enough courage to do something about it. In a way, empathy is predicated upon hope.”

MnMNGolf Tournament a
Great Success!

MnMN’s first Annual Golf Scramble on July 12th was an outstanding success! With the help of generous sponsors Hy-Vee, Basin, Delich Wealth Management and a gift from Susan Engeleiter of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, we managed to raise over $7,000 in this first foray in the world of golf. These funds will work towards MnMN’s mission of realizing a just and equitable Minnesota through relationship and community building among people of ALL faith traditions.

A wonderful time was had by all - seasoned golfers and new golfers alike! After a morning of thundershowers, the skies cleared up for sunny weather on the links. We played games and had prize winners for winning Team - Ram Gada Team; longest drive - Gail Anderson; and longest putt - Charlie Curry. Lots of prizes were handed out for very silly categories and all prizes were well deserved.

Special thank yous go out to our “golf professional” Laila Franklin, recent graduate of St. Thomas’ Division 1 golf team who helped with some on the spot mentoring and golf lessons! Dr. Danielle Clausnitzer who drove the refreshment golf cart and kept us hydrated and med-evac-ed; Bill Konrardy; Lee and Joni Burge, Charlie Curry, Ram Gada, and Laura Heck who helped make the day happen! And to Brookland Golf Park who were gracious and friendly hosts!
