The newsletter for the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators
Welcome to the 2025–2026 Academic Year!
Dear LASSCA members,
As the new academic year is now underway, I want to extend my appreciation to each of you. Your leadership, vision and daily commitment to our Lasallian mission continue to shape vibrant educational communities and inspire lasting impact in the lives of students and educators alike.
This year brings fresh opportunities to innovate, collaborate and reimagine what’s possible in education. While we build on the lessons of the past, let us also look ahead — with optimism, resilience and purpose — toward a future where every student is empowered to thrive.
Thank you for your continued dedication. I look forward to the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together.
Kind regards,
Sarah Laitinen Director of Education and Formation Christian Brothers Conference
A LASSCA Minute, the e-newsletter of the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators, won the first-place award for the Catholic Media Association’s best external e–newsletter in 2025. We are proud to have been recognized for providing outstanding content, design and resources to our LASSCA members.
Registration for the Encountering Lasallian Spirituality Retreat has been extended until Sept. 30. The retreat will take place Nov. 3-6, at Bethany Retreat Center in Lutz, Florida. Facilitators Brother Michael Phipps, FSC, and Holly Hoey Germann will lead sessions on the roots of spirituality, Lasallian spirituality and Lasallian practice. All Lasallians are welcome to attend.
Registration is now open for Huether 2025! This annual conference provides an opportunity for educators in the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) to come together to explore educational and spiritual issues. The 2025 theme, “Building Sacred Bridges: Igniting Our Vocation as Lasallian Educators,” will examine teaching as a transformative vocation that shapes both educators and students, fostering a commitment to faith, service and justice. For the first time, we will offer a New Educators Track for those new to the charism and/or first through third year teachers.
Register by Oct. 28 to take advantage of special group pricing. The first registrant from your ministry is $425, the second is $400, and each additional registrant is $375.
Those who work in communications, full or part time, are invited to attend a Communications Preconference, Nov. 19-20, prior to the start of Huether. Registration for the preconference is $100. Chief administrators, please encourage your communications team to attend this preconference as an opportunity for networking, professional development and formation.
Mark your calendars for our next LASSCA Conference, themed “Anchored in Faith: Leading Lasallian Schools Amid a Shifting Society,” at the Omni Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas, from March 1-4, 2026. Registration will open in December.
