Less Than a Month to Ramble!
Bring friends and family to explore Abbeville's historic treasures on Saturday, March 11, 2023! This year's Ramblewill include a mix of sites connected to the area's cultural, industrial and architectural heritage, and you won't want to miss it.
Tickets are $50/person ($15 for students and teachers). LTHP members receive an automatic discount when registering online in the membership portal. Boxed lunches are provided to all attendees.
Registration closes Sunday, March 5, 2023.

Most Endangered Places and Preservation Award Nominations due by 3/5/23
It's time to submit your nominations for LTHP's list of Most Endangered Places and the 2023 Louisiana Preservation Awards! If there is a site in your community that needs attention or is threatened to be lost, submit an online nomination form here. We especially encourage nominations from underrepresented parishes that have yet to be highlighted: Red River, West Carroll, Catahoula, Concordia, Allen, Jefferson Davis, Evangeline, Pointe Coupee, St. Martin, St. Helena, Assumption and St. Bernard.
Furthermore, if there is a great success story or a preservation advocate in your region that deserves statewide recognition, choose from one of eleven categories and submit an online nomination form here. For a printed nomination form, please email comainsky@lthp.org.
Nominations for both programs are due by Sunday March 5, 2023.
Annual Preservation Conference to be held April 19-20, 2023
Each year, the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation and partners are proud to host the Annual Louisiana Preservation Conference. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements for the 42nd Annual Louisiana Preservation Conference, to be held April 19-20 in Lake Charles, with a focus on resiliency in preservation. We will be releasing more details soon.
Interested in presenting a topic during a conference session in Lake Charles? Submit a Session Speaker application by Friday, February 24th.
We are excited to announce that Clay Omainsky has joined the LTHP team as Director of Development & Membership.
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Clay graduated cum laude from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in 2006 and later, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in American Studies and Economics. He went on to earn a master's degree in English from Auburn University. Upon graduating from Auburn, Clay worked as a Summer Publishing Intern at the Library of America in New York, and prior to moving to Baton Rouge, he was the Communications & Marketing Director for Wintzell's Oyster House. In 2019, Clay was inducted into UMS-Wright's Arts Hall of Fame for his contributions to his alma mater's dramatic arts and publications programs. With past experience working with nonprofits including Visit Mobile, the American Cancer Society's Vintage Affair Gala, and the Joe Jefferson Playhouse, Clay presently serves on the Board of Directors of Distinguished Young Women (formerly America's Junior Miss), the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls, which is headquartered in Mobile. In his spare time, Clay enjoys traveling and spending time with his two French bulldogs, Beignet and Blanche.
