Better health starts here.

Whole plant foods can do wonders for our bodies. Sign up for our next virtual 21-Day Plant Powered Jumpstart to learn how plants heal — and how you can make a plant-based lifestyle work for you!

You’ll feel the difference in just 21 days. You may even add your name to our growing list of community members who have prevented, treated, or reversed a lifestyle-related disease:

Switching to a whole food plant-based diet helped me reverse high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) that began in my 20s.”— Karina P.  “My cholesterol level has dropped by over 50 points, and my blood pressure has normalized.”
— Mitch C.
“During my fifth decade, I entered menopause and gained 40 pounds which promoted acid reflux, weak knees, and poor mobility – which all quickly resolved with a WFPB meal pattern.”— Lois L.  “After undergoing bilateral mastectomies for breast cancer, I switched to a plant-based diet, which has enabled me to be cancer free for the past eight years.”
— Vivian D.

Plant-strong athletes in our community, and around the world, demonstrate how powerful plants are in fueling even our most extreme sports. We’re excited to share the recent achievements of two of our community members:

Dr_%20Ettinger%20cycling%20tour_edited.jpg   Leigh Ettinger, MD, PPMNY Medical Advisor, just completed a 6-day cycling tour in the Pyrenees mountains, riding the same roads as the Tour de France! Learn more about Dr. Ettinger’s journey and how he managed to eat plant-based during the tour on Instagram @thedoctorherbivore.

_Rob%20Klein%20full%20Ironman_edited.jpg   Robert Klein, PPMNY Lifestyle Mentor, completed the Ironman 70.3 mile Eagleman race in Cambridge, Maryland, in June and followed it up with his first full-distance Ironman (104.6 miles!) this past Sunday at the Lake Placid Ironman.

Want more inspiration? Check out the 2019 documentary, The Game Changers, which debunks the myth in fitness nutrition that animal protein is essential for top physical performance.

Our culinary fun continues at Harlem Grown’s Saturdays on the Farm events held at their 127th Street Impact Farm. On Saturday, PPMNY volunteers, dietitian Kristin Kabay, Louise Cohen-Silver, and Iain Waller (not pictured), prepared beet hummus and pesto to share with participants. Learn more here.

Last week, Dr. Kim Williams, Sr., joined us to discuss how whole foods promote the growth of good bacteria in our gut microbiome and the importance of a healthy gut to our overall health, including our cardiovascular system. Watch the replay.
