Last week I shared about Sheltering Wings, one of the organizations represented at Danville UMC's Missions Sunday a couple of weeks ago. This week's focus is on Mental Health America of Hendricks County. MHA of Hendricks County was established in 1953 to promote mental wellness through through information and referral, education, individual advocacy and support by linking those in need with appropriate mental health services in Hendricks County..

MHA of Hendricks County offers two holiday programs, Holiday Scrolls and Holiday Gift Lift. Holiday Scrolls supports families living with and under care for mental illness by matching "holiday angels" with families to provide wish list items. The Holiday Gift Lift program supports patients in long term care facilities throughout Hendricks County by collecting and delivering items such as puzzle books, calendars, fleece blankets and hygeine items. Both of these holiday programs are supported by individual, church and business donations. Details for both programs are available HERE.

This Veteran's Day, Friday November 11, 2022, they are hosting a luncheon celebration of Veterans, along with a mental health panel. Ticket and registration information for this event is available HERE.

MHA of Hendricks County offers trainings for individuals and groups including Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid for adults who work with youth and suicide prevention utilziing both QPR and ASIST models. Other programs and services include support groups and twice monthly Veteran's Social Club.

Metro Ministries is glad to have made this connection, thanks to Danville UMC. Next week, we will feature Project Transformation Indiana, another organization we heard from during Danville's Missions Sunday.

Metro's 99th Anniversary Celebration!

Invitation%20with%20black%20border.PNG

Our celebration is less than two weeks away! We invite you to  Register Now if you have not already done so.

Join us on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at University United Methodist Church, as we celebrate the ways that Metro Ministries has been making connections and building bridges this year.

The celebration will begin at 3:30 pm with food, fellowship and music by Simply United. Then around 4:15, we will have opening remarks and words from some of our 2022 grant recipients. We are also planning opportunities to join in song. After a break for sweet treats, Rev. Dr. Aleze Fulbright will deliver the keynote message.

We encourage and welcome honor and memorial gifts to Metro Ministries, and all those recognized will be named during the program. We will wrap up the evening by announcing the Missioner of the Year awards - from your votes - and will then close with prayer and song.

Please register by November 4 so that we can have an accurate count of attendees. Contact Tina McAninch with any questions about the event at 317-452-4786 or metrodirector1923@gmail.com.

Individual tickets are $40/person. We are also seeking event sponsors at $750, $500 and $250 levels. All sponsorships include up to 8 seats for the event. Sponsors will be recognized during the event.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
