Together, We Keep Fighting

We’ve been hard at work since our record‑breaking fundraising events wrapped, and it’s time to share what your support is making possible. Thanks to our incredible Play Like a Pro, Bound by Hoops, and BOP Kids Walk communities, more than $1.25 million in new neuroblastoma research funding is now in motion. This includes: $800,000 to continue the neuroblastoma bivalent vaccine at MSKCC, $100,000 to reactivate the John K. Bartosz Memorial Fellowship, and $350,000 toward groundbreaking cellular therapy research at CHOP, along with a global $500,000 RFP—our first‑of‑its‑kind initiative designed to spark new breakthroughs. Please watch the video above to see everything BOP is funnding.

At the same time, we’ve felt deep heartbreak, losing three children since our events ended; even one is too many, and it’s why we keep going. Your support is making a real, tangible difference, and together we will keep pushing until that number is ZERO.

BOARD MEMBER BRIEF
From Diagnosis to Determination: A Family’s Journey and a Call to Action

By Amiee Mittleman

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to speak on a panel about resilience at Sunrise Day Camp. As I stood in front of a room filled with people who had chosen to dedicate part of their summer to children impacted by cancer, I kept thinking about a lesson our family has learned over and over again during the last few years: no one gets through cancer alone.

Our inaugural Bound By Hoops charity basketball tournament at MSG, held on World Cancer Day, raised $170,000. We were thrilled to launch this new event - bringing in new sponsors, supporters, and dollars for research.

MSKCC Annual Meeting - A huge thank you to the Neuroblastoma Team at MSKCC for hosting our annual meeting. The updates on current research and clinical trials were both informative and energizing. We’re deeply grateful to Drs. Modak, Cheung, Kushner, and the entire MSK team for their unwavering commitment to advancing treatments for our children.

John K. Bartosz Memorial Fellowship in Pediatric Immunotherapy at MSK Kids

Band of Parents continues to fulfil a critical unmet need, this time by supporting the research of Dr. Salvatore Aspromonte – recipient of the John K. Bartosz Memorial Fellowship in Pediatric Immunotherapy at MSK Kids. Funding a Fellow at MSK Kids began in 2016 in honor of John Bartosz whose son Jack lost his battle with neuroblastoma in 2012, at 10 years old. John himself lost his battle with cancer in 2016.
