It's time to start thinking about the Solstice 2027 Parade Theme!  Each year we kick it off with a party around the EQUINOX to get ideas and input from our community so we can come up with a new theme.  Themes are not repeated, and we look for theme ideas that inspire multiple dimensions of creativity. Our theme last year was "WAVE". 

Dress as the Solstice theme you want to see and take the runway! Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Solstice Theme Costume and for the evening’s most outrageous—or most dressed —Solstice fashion.

This Weekend! 

Driving tour to 24 artist studios in Santa Barbara County
September 5-7, 11am-5pm 
Opening Reception September 4th, 5-8pm at the CAW

Tickets are on sale for the Santa Barbara Studio Artists’ 25th annual Open Studios Tour, taking place Labor Day weekend, Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7., from 11 am to 5 pm daily. Tickets are $25 and available online at www.SantaBarbaraStudioArtists.com.  (Children under 12 are free.)

Tickets and tour maps will also be available at the reception and throughout the holiday weekend at the Community Arts Workshop, 631 Garden Street.  Some of our Solstice Friends and our newest Advisory Board Member Leslie Ekker are participating in this tour!   Check it out.

Bike DeLIGHTS is back and invites you to decorate your bike, gather some friends, and join a colorful community ride along the waterfront as the sun goes down and the lights come on.

Saturday, September 12
Gather: 6:30 PM
Roll Out: 7:00 PM
Meet at: Santa Barbara Skate Park
Corner of Cabrillo Blvd. & State Street

Bring your bike, add some lights, and come in costume if you like. Expect a fun mix of music, art, friends and community as the group rides off into the sunset and lights up the night.

All bikes and all ages are welcome.

Bike DeLIGHTS is also planning to make this a monthly tradition, with future rides on the first Saturday of every month.
