The Godparent Project is a documentary featuring Orthodox priests and their wives. Fr. Alexandros, Pres. Stephanie, Fr. Vjekoslav, Fr. Christopher, and Kh. Sophia share honest reflections on what this role really asks of us. It's not a lecture. It's a real, warm conversation about responsibility, love, and showing up for a child's spiritual life.

Did You Know? A Tradition as Old as the Church Itself

The godparent's role dates back to the early Church. In the third and fourth centuries, catechumens were paired with an "anadochos" — a faithful sponsor who guided them through baptism preparation and remained by their side afterward. When you're asked to serve as a godparent today, you're stepping into a tradition spanning over 1,700 years.
