Gavin,
The Natural Resources Commission (NRC) has voted to table the reopening of the partially-closed Michigan coyote hunting season—ignoring the principles of Proposal G and abandoning science-based wildlife management. Passed by voters in 1996, Proposal G requires that all wildlife decisions in Michigan be based on sound, peer-reviewed science—not public opinion or political pressure.
This decision is not just about coyotes—it’s about the future of how wildlife policy is made in our state. If emotion and pressure campaigns can outweigh science and data now, what comes next?
✊ Introducing the MUCC Coyote Coalition
MUCC is launching theCoyote Coalition to unite hunters, trappers, farmers, and conservationists who are ready to stand up and say: wildlife management decisions in Michigan must be driven by science—not politics.
By signing on, you’ll be adding your name to a growing list of individuals and organizations demanding the NRC reverse its decision and uphold the intent of Proposal G.
