We look forward to seeing you in July at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati for National Seminar!

This is the fourth in a series of emails you will receive between now and the event's start that includes helpful information for your National Seminar experience.

Mobility Scooter Rental Deadline Approaching

Handbell Musicians of America is partnering with Mobility Plus Cincinnati East to provide mobility scooters for use at National Seminar. We hope this equipment will be helpful for many of our attendees and provide comfortable transportation throughout the Sharonville Convention Center and hotels.

The rental cost is $80 per scooter for the week (Tuesday, July 14, 2026 – Saturday, July 18, 2026). HMA is coordinating the rentals and making one payment to the rental company for all equipment. HMA is also underwriting the delivery/pick-up fee. Please note that when you rent a scooter, it is yours for the week to take wherever you would like to go. We can also arrange for you to leave it at the HMA Registration Desk if you prefer to not bring it to your hotel room each night.

Scooter reservations must be received and paid for by June 29, 2026. A signed waiver is required by Mobility Plus, which will be emailed to you for signature prior to your arrival in Cincinnati. The scooter pick-up location at the Sharonville Convention Center will be emailed after payment is made and signed waiver is received.

Pre-Concert Lecture/Demonstrations for the Public

NEW THIS YEAR!

HMA is presenting a new educational series for the public, pre-concert lecture/demonstrations. These events will include a brief history of the English handbell, examples of different handbells, and a showcase of various performance techniques that the audience may see in the coming performance.

Please understand that these lecture/demonstrations are designed for the general public to learn about our instrument prior to attending the concerts, and are not included in Seminar registrants' schedules. However, if there is anyone in your party not registered for the event, they are welcome to attend.

Pre-concert lecture/demonstrations will be held in room 201. We will also be showing a pre-recorded version of the lecture/demonstration on the livestream feed before each concert.

This program is supported by a grant from the Coalition of Music Organizations, a voluntary association that provides access to funding and mutual aid. The Coalition is an initiative of the American Musicological Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing our understanding of music.
