Last month's groundbreaking signified a new beginning for our Marissa's House! Special thanks to our partners at Lloyd Companies, Eight Days of Hope and our amazing community partners for making this new building a reality.
Sturgis is right around the corner and we want to expand our volunteer Ambassador program. Increasing human trafficking awareness within our rural areas takes a community. This group of volunteers focuses on distributing human trafficking awareness posters and pull tab signs to rest areas, gas stations, restaurants, hospitals and hotels throughout South Dakota. Will you join our team?
When Shar joined the Call to Freedom team almost 2 years ago as the Finance Manager, she was excited to support the mission in any way she could. Because of her expertise in accounting and human resources, she was soon promoted to Finance and Human Resources Coordinator. Call to Freedom continued to grow and it became apparent that someone was needed lead the Operations department on a full time basis. Shar was the perfect choice to become Director of Administration to oversee the Finance, Human Resources, and Operations departments.
Shar and her husband are empty nesters with two young adult children. She enjoys working out, hiking, and gardening.
Call to Freedom would like to express our deepest gratitude to 100+ Women Who Care-Sioux Falls Area for selecting us as their non-profit of choice in May 2021. They donated $13,600 to Marissa's Housing Project. Thank you for supporting our goal of providing safe housing for survivors where they can be re-unified with their children!
