Sponsors Needed for Summer Lunch Program

Our Summer Lunch program is gearing up to deliver free lunches to kids in Sun Prairie neighborhoods again this summer. We are looking for businesses, organizations, churches, families, and other groups to help sponsor one or more lunches throughout the summer.

This year's program has expanded the number of stops to meet the increasing community need, and we expect to provide 300 kids with lunch every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Join us and be part of this phenomenal community program through sponsorship! As a lunch sponsor, your group will provide an investment of $550 and volunteer to help prepare sandwiches and assemble sack lunches at Sunshine Place on your chosen date.

Thank you for helping us keep kids in our community fed over the summer!

May is Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Month

Many people struggle to afford period products, which can lead to loss of school and work time, health issues, and isolation. Sunshine Place is working to ensure everyone in our community has access to the products they need. We provide a variety of period products for guests at the Sun Prairie Food Pantry and also through the work of our Period Products Initiative, which partners with local schools to provide students with products throughout the year and over summer break.

You can help support these efforts by making a financial donation HERE or by donating menstrual products. These donations will fill an immediate need for those facing hardship in our community. Top needed items are: tampons, pads, liners, period underwear, and menstrual cups. Or make it easy and shop off our Amazon list HERE. Thank you!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The impact of Sunshine Place programs is only possible through the kindness of community members who provide support through volunteer time and donations. Below are just a few recent highlights of this generosity:

Our School Food Drive Challenge recently wrapped up with amazing results. All together, Sun Prairie elementary schools collected 53,131 lbs. of food to the pantry! That's a big increase from last year’s 38,000 lb. donation. Thank you to the Bank of Sun Prairie for your sponsorship and support. And thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered to make this a success.

Thank you to the volunteers and donors who helped us pack over 240 packs of menstrual products to be distributed to students at Sun Prairie schools for the summer. Shout out to Thebco Windows, Doors, & Siding for the generous donation that enabled us to meet our fundraising goal. And thank you to the Period Products Driver Committee for organizing!
