Dear Friends of MTF,
What's better than giving the gift of time? It's the best gift ever and we have many opportunities for you to share that gift with MTF!
See below for the many ways you can support our upcoming Pop Up Prom Shoppe and CLC campus visits for Lake County high school students.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Pop Up Prom Shoppe March 12 & 13! The secret mission: Getting students to CLC and inspired for all of the possibilities post-high school
This wonderful partnership between MTF, Zengeler Cleaners, College of Lake County and University Center of Lake County is an enlightening educational experience, free-dress giveaway and feel-good event!
Friday 3/11 is exclusively for invited students. We host an official CLC college visit day in addition to prom dress shopping.
Saturday 3/12 and Sunday 3/13 are open to all Lake County high school students with a valid high school ID.
You can be part of the excitement! We need personal shoppers to assist students through the shopping process! Other opportunities are for greeters and behind the scenes working to keep the dresses ready for shoppers!
This event will bring over 300 volunteers, 600 shoppers, publicity on WGN's "Around Town" and on social media!
Sponsor boards and signage will be at the event as well.
Costs involved with Pop Up Prom Shoppe include bussing students to CLC on Friday for the college visit, University Center facilities costs, dressing rooms rental, DJ, photographer and purchasing suits for the boys.
Your help in making this a great event to get kids to CLC and to their high school prom is greatly appreciated!
Donor & Sponsor Pre-Prom Reception on Friday, March 11!
Be a donor or sponsor at $250 and above, and attend the Pre-Prom Reception at the Pop Up Prom Shoppe on Friday Evening from 6-8 p.m. for food, drinks and a chance to see the Pop Up Prom Shoppe!
Service is our Mission Our Service Stories tell it best
A seven-year-old boy is diagnosed with a terminal disease that causes gradual loss of physical and mental function. He requires constant care, which his mother provides along with caring for his two young siblings. His father works two jobs to provide for the family, but loses his job at a restaurant due to Covid-19 restrictions. The family struggles to make ends meet and they cannot afford new clothing for the growing children, medical supplies for their ill son and gas money so that the mother can transport her son to his many appointments. This request is approved, keeping them financially stable until the father can find additional employment.
Thank you for allowing me to attend the Mothers Trust Zoom meeting to highlight this family's need and for ensuring that my service request would be processed as soon as possible. Thank you for expediting the process and to the committee members who readily gave their approval. Receiving their support meant a great deal.
Blessings to you as you seek to meet the needs of low-income children in Lake County.
