October and Beyond

Learning Opportunities at LMPC

Debbie,

October is time for the harvest, as all the dutiful planning for the year comes to fruition - vegetable, animal, relational and spiritual.  If the dynamics of change are overwhelming, join us for a seminar to support seeing the systems at work around you and how to re-focus their energy.

Bowen Basics

(online) Nov 17-19

Building on LMPC’s Clergy Clinic tradition, Bowen Basics equips clergy to respond with greater clarity and steadiness while cultivating congregations where meaning, purpose, and belonging can flourish. Through family-of-origin reflection, case studies, and engagement with Bowen family systems theory through readings and presentations, participants will examine how relationships form and fracture, how blame and scapegoating develop, and how leaders can remain connected while taking clear, thoughtful I-positions.

Lombard Clergy Retreat (Feb 3-9/27)

We are  returning to the beautiful Epworth retreat center, Georgia in February 2027. The schedule  includes a free weekend to facilitate relaxation! Weekday presentations will focus on narrative identity, self-differentiation, active listening, and the role of storytelling in ministry. Our speakers are Dr. Barbara Laymon from the Bowen Center and Dr. Darla Deardorff, a UNESCO expert in intercultural competencies and storytelling. Come, relax and learn.
