STEM Summer Camp@USMSM for Future Problem Solvers

The STEM Summer Camp, funded by SoMD 2030, is for high-school students who are interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields of study. Students will learn mechanical design, electronics, coding, engineering, and math skills, as well as collaboration and teamwork, developing these diverse skills to solve problems and encourage innovation. For St. Mary’s, Calvert, and Charles County students only!

2025 SMCM Solar Cell STEM Camp

For the third year in a row, SMCM is hosting a SoMD 2030-funded high-school STEM camp at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Students will work in teams to design, build and race solar-powered race cars. Teams will gain hands-on experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D-printing, coding and learn broadly about energy in electronics, nature, and our society. Students interested in science, technology and teamwork are encouraged to apply.  For St. Mary’s, Calvert, and Charles County students only!

The "Every Student Flies" program- Ready 9 Aviation Academy is an evolution of Southern Maryland Seaplanes, focused on providing specialty flight instruction for rated pilots.  This new chapter builds on that expertise to bridge the gap between existing STEM programs in Southern Maryland and a hands-on instructional experience in an airplane. The Ready 9 program offers every high school-aged student in Southern Maryland a free hands-on flight in an airplane.
