Congratulations to Local Students Recognized for Compelling Essays in 2025 Kiwanis Contest!
Each spring, Boyne area fifth- and tenth-grade students are invited to take part in the Kiwanis Boyne City Eddie Essay Contest—a heartfelt tradition that encourages young writers to share why a local nonprofit organization deserves recognition and support.
This year, Challenge Mountain was selected by two thoughtful fifth-grade winners. “We were incredibly touched that these students chose Challenge Mountain as their essay topic,” shares Elizabeth Gertz, Executive Director of Challenge Mountain. “Their compelling stories and heartfelt writing helped them stand out—and win. It’s clear they understand the importance of inclusion and the impact recreational opportunities have on people living with disabilities.”
