If you’re biking and encounter someone driving dangerously or acting intentionally hostile to you can (and are encouraged to) report that aggressive driver to local police by calling 911 (police, non-emergency). By reporting the incident to law enforcement with as many details as you can, officers will have a chance to intervene with the driver before they repeat their actions to another fellow cyclist or vulnerable road user. Help Us Document 50 Years of HBL!
As HBL enters its 50th anniversary this year, we’re compiling a digital archive of historic images and materials related to our organization, our Century rides, and the history of cycling in Hawaiʻi.
Do you have any photos, artifacts, or memorabilia from HBL’s past? If so, please email Vincent at vincent@HBL.org! We’d love to see what you have and possibly digitize these materials to commemorate our 50th anniversary.
We’re also interested in key stories and great memories from HBL’s past! If you have something you’d like to share, please reach out to Vincent by email (vincent@HBL.org).
Check out HBL’s online calendar for a full list of all the free group rides, events, and other bike-related fun going on in Hawai‘i at HBL.org/calendar.
