This #GivingTuesday, Hawaiʻi Bicycling League reflects on a year of incredible progress and the power of community.
In 2024, we've expanded opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience the joy of biking while advancing affordable and eco-friendly transportation options for everyone. These achievements are a testament to what we can accomplish together—a united community dedicated to creating a safer, healthier, and more resilient Hawai‘i. You can learn more about our 2024 impact by clicking here.
Your support makes this work possible. Let’s continue building a brighter future, one pedal at a time.
Join HBL and supporters to celebrate the opening of the Leeward Bikeway on Sunday, December 15th at Asing Community Park in ‘Ewa. What started as a dream over 40 years ago has become a reality! Fresh pavement now connects the Pearl Harbor Historic Trail and West Loch Community Path in an 11-mile multi-use path (with more expansion planned for the future). Join us for a short ceremony followed by bike rides, walks, and runs on the new path! RSVP via Facebook here.

BikeEd Is Hiring
BikeEd is hiring for part time and full time instructors. Start now, enjoy the holidays with friends and family and bring in the New Year spreading the joy (and safety) of cycling to O‘ahu’s youth. Full-time positions are Monday to Friday. Part-time positions are Thursdays and Fridays. Both approximately start 7:30am - 1:30pm.
Join us on Saturday, December 21stfor a family-focused Waikīkī night ride with rolling escort from our friends at the Honolulu Police Department! All ages are welcome for this free event starting at Kapi‘olani Park. Bring your bike and come test out your skills on HPD's obstacle course, talk story with officers from Waikīkī's Community Policing Team, grab HBL info & reflective gear, and mingle with other casual riders before the ride starts. Bike light giveaways provided by HPD - find out more by clicking here.
Don't forget your lights & to turn "on" your reflectors! For nighttime riding, bike reflectors (which don't need charging or batteries) can serve as good backups to your bike lights to alert motorists of your presence by reflecting the light from their headlights. Ensure they can shine by wiping off any grit/grime/dust. Check that they are unblocked and facing in the correct direction on your bike.
