Join the Chestnut Hill Conservancy on a walking tour of Norwood Avenue on Saturday, May 6, from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM. The tour will explore the impact of conservation easements on the Wissahickon watershed. With a unique collection of permanently eased properties in close proximity, Norwood Avenue offers an opportunity to discover how owners and the Conservancy are working to address stormwater runoff while preserving open space proactively.

Rob Fleming, a historian and Landscape Architect, will lead the walking tour in May. Originally from rural Iowa, Fleming is a University of Pennsylvania-educated teacher and landscape architect. Rob worked with Hanna/Olin Landscape Architects, now known as OLIN, a nationally celebrated firm, and ran his own practice from 1984 – 2009. He also taught for nine years at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design. Rob has served on Penn’s School of Design Morris Arboretum boards, the Highlands Historical Society and the Wallace Center in Iowa, and Wyck Historic House Garden and Farm in Germantown.

The tour will start at 33 East Chestnut Hill Avenue, at the intersection of Norwood Avenue and Chestnut Hill Avenue.

Please wear clothing and shoes appropriate for walking on uneven, hilly terrain. Refreshments and snacks will be provided at the end of the tour. Headsets will be used, and disposable earpieces will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own headphones.

Tickets are $15 for Friends of Wissahickon and Chestnut Hill Conservancy members and $25 for Non-Members.
